Costly airline losses hit Q4 renewals: WTW

A series of costly airline incidents and rising claims have turned 2025 into a challenging renewal year for aviation insurers, according to WTW’s Global Aviation and Space head Adam Hemingway, Reinsurance News reported. Losses tied to Jeju Airlines, Air Busan, American Airlines, Air India and two cargo events, along with higher repair costs and inflation, are adding pressure, yet strong competition and abundant capacity continue to limit premium increases.
