Commercial auto rate hikes slowed in April, but increases for general liability, commercial property and umbrella ticked up, according to a report Tuesday from Ivans Insurance Services, a unit of Applied Systems Inc.
Rates for commercial auto rose 8.41%, down from 8.78% in March, and business owners policies increased 7.98%, compared with 8.19%, Ivans said.
Umbrella saw the largest rate increase among coverage lines at 9.41%, up from 9.28% in March.
Commercial property rates rose 7.7%, up slightly from 7.63% in March; general liability was up 4.22%, compared with 3.71%.
Workers compensation rates fell 1.78%, compared with a 1.54% decrease in March.
