Big-time burnout bringing down business

Fifty-five percent of us are worn out at work.

That’s how many U.S. employees are experiencing burnout, according to a study conducted this month for Eagle Hill Consulting. Interestingly, the percentage is even higher among remote and hybrid workers, at 61% and 57%, respectively.

Also interestingly, younger workers are more affected, Eagle Hill says, with the Gen Z burnout rate highest, at 66%. Millennials were next, at 58%.

Eagle Hill noted that the results come on the cusp of “the busy holiday season, a time when workloads often spike, customer expectations climb, and employee stress intensifies.”

“Leaders are wise to really dig in and understand the root causes of burnout specific to their organization,” CEO Melissa Jezior said in the release. “Implementing pragmatic strategies will enable employees to optimally perform their job functions, which ultimately drives organization-wide performance.”

Seems like not all of companies’ options have been exhausted.
