Virginia state employees face increased health insurance costs

Starting July 1, some Virginia state employees will face higher health insurance costs following a state review and claims projection, The Daily Progress reports. The state Department of Human Resource Management proposed a 6.3% increase in total premiums for the next fiscal year, which is lower than the national average of 7%. However, full-time employee contributions will rise by less than that, with no increase for some plans.
