Financial penalty

A German prosecutor’s office has fined automotive parts firm Continental AG €100 million ($107 million) for negligence related to the supply of engine parts, including software, for Volkswagen AG’s EA189 diesel engine involved in the emissions scandal a decade ago, Morningstar reported citing MarketWatch. Continental will not appeal the decision and said that the fine will not have any significant effect on this year’s earnings as it had previously set aside money for it.
