Marsh introduces global alternative risk practice

Marsh LLC on Thursday launched a global alternative risk solutions practice, led by Christophe Letondot.

The practice brings together Marsh’s expertise in alternative risk transfer, captives, complex risk and parametric coverages to help corporations optimize their risk capital.

New York-based Mr. Letondot previously was credit specialties leader, U.S. and Canada. As head of global alternative risk solutions, he will report to Pat Donnelly, president of Marsh Specialty and global placement.

The practice will utilize data, technology and resources across Marsh Specialty, global placement, captive solutions, and advisory. Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC, Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc.’s reinsurance brokerage unit, will also be tapped to access capital pools, including the insurance-linked securities markets.
