Heavy rains cause flash flooding in Dubai

Torrential rains caused flash flooding in Dubai on April 16, with rushing water inundating businesses and homes and turning roads into rivers, CNN reported. The rains also severely disrupted flight operations in the city, as the tarmac of the Dubai International Airport was underwater. Many airlines, including flag carrier Emirates, reported flight delays, while Flydubai was forced to cancel all flights until the morning of April 17.
