Johson & Johnson cough syrup recalled over suspected toxicity

The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority said on April 14 that it is recalling batches of Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc.’s cough syrup, after detecting high levels of the toxin diethylene glycol, Reuters reported. The regulator said that the affected batches were sold in Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Eswatini, and South Africa. Nigeria and Kenya have already issued recalls for the syrup.
