Apple loses bid to throw out $977M lawsuit over app store fees

Apple Inc. has lost a bid to dismiss a £785 million ($977 million) class action lawsuit filed by over 1,500 mobile app developers in the U.K. over its App store fees, City A.M. reported. The developers bought the case to the Competition Appeal Tribunal in July 2023, claiming that the firm charges a 15% to 30% commission on some payments made through its App Store. However, Apple argued that they cannot have a claim in the U.K. unless they were charged on purchases made via the U.K. App Store.
