Japan property cat demand down at April 1 renewals

According to a new report by Gallagher Re, Japan property catastrophe demand was slightly down year-on-year at the recent April 1 reinsurance renewals, Reinsurance News reported. The firm noted that some increases in retention were offset by a small amount of additional capacity purchased. The report highlights that there was a considerable increase in supply of capacity from reinsurers.
