Climate disasters in France cost insurers over $7 billion

France Assureurs, the insurance federation of France, said that climate disasters in the country cost insurers €6.5 billion ($7 billion) in 2023, making it the third-most severe year in terms of climate-related claims after 1999 and 2022, Yahoo reported citing Agence France-Presse. The uptick in claims in 2023 come as temperature records were successively broken.
