Increasing number of automotive firms suffer ransomware attacks

A study by German digital association Bitkom showed that the country’s automotive industry is particularly threatened by the increasing number of cyberattacks caused by organized crime and foreign nations, B2B Cyber Security reported. The study showed that the theft of data, the destruction or damage of IT equipment and industrial espionage as well as sabotage caused €206 billion ($223.7 billion) in damage to the economy.
