Facebook to face $3.7 billion class action suit over market dominance

U.K.’s Competition Appeal Tribunal on Feb. 15 ruled that Meta Platforms, Inc.-owned Facebook must face a £3 billion ($3.77 billion) class action lawsuit over claims that the social media giant abused its dominant position to monetize the personal data of its users, Reuters reported. Liza Gormsen, a legal academic, is bringing the case on behalf of around 45 million Facebook users in the U.K.
