Gallagher announces global facultative reinsurance exec changes

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. Wednesday said it is establishing new hubs in Singapore and Sydney for its global facultative reinsurance business and expanding its existing teams in London, New York and Dubai.

Claire Burrell will join in April as chief operating officer and will be responsible for all operational aspects of the global fac division. Based in London, she will report to Malcolm Payton, head of global fac for Gallagher, a company statement said.

Ms. Burrell was most recently COO for The Ardonagh Group Ltd.

Gallagher also announced additional appointments in its reinsurance business.

Alex Groves was named executive director and will focus on supporting the U.S., Puerto Rican & Canadian broking team. He is based in London and will report to Ian Baker, executive director and head of UK fac operations.

Mr. Groves was most recently senior vice president with Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC.

Trevor Noad was named broking director, supporting clients based in the U.S. and Canada. Based in London, he will report to Helen Pound, executive director and head of fac property USA, Puerto Rico & Canada.

Mr. Noad was most recently a divisional director at Howden Group Holdings Ltd.

Mark Sherwin was named executive director and head of fac property U.K. and Ireland. Based in London, he was most recently executive associate with Miller Insurance Services LLP.

Emily Stanford was named executive director supporting global clients, facilities and consortiums. Based in London, she was most recently a director for Ardonagh Specialty of The Ardonagh Group Ltd.

Mr. Sherwin and Ms. Stanford will report to Paul Butcher, managing director and head of U.K. property fac, the statement said.
