A major ransomware attack that hit American, Irish-domiciled building products and technology firm Johnson Controls International in September 2023 is said to have costed the firm $27 million in expenses, BleepingComputer reported. The Dark Angels ransomware gang, which was behind the attack, stole more than 27 TB of confidential data from the firm. The attack had forced the company to shut down large portions of its IT infrastructure, affecting customer-facing systems.
