Aspen Insurance posts net income of $86 million

Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. posted a net income attributable to common shareholders of $86 million for the third quarter of this year, compared with a loss of $161 million reported in the year-ago comparative period, Reinsurance News reported. The growth in net income was driven by a strong increase in underwriting results, lower net realized and unrealized investment and foreign exchange gains/losses, as well as better investment income.
