Gallagher buys agency in upstate New York

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said Tuesday it has acquired Queensbury, New York-based Hughes Insurance Agency Inc.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Hughes, with about 20 employees, places commercial, personal, and life and health coverage for clients in the Northeast.
Linda Abodeely, president; Joe Koncikowski, vice president; and the agency’s staff will continue to operate out of their current location as part of the Gallagher Agency Alliance under the direction of Jen Tadin, managing director of Gallagher’s global small-business practice.
