Risk Strategies buys wine specialist

RSC Insurance Brokerage Inc., which does business as Risk Strategies Co., said Tuesday it has acquired wineries specialist North Bay from InterWest Insurance Services LLC.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The purchase of the North Bay business unit includes offices in Petaluma and Santa Rosa, California, as well as its Wine Industry Focus Group led by wine and insurance industry veterans Mike Ryan and Sama Hershey Davis, an RSC statement said.

The deal includes several other lines of business and industry specializations including property and development, contracting, recreation and clubs, and engineering, supported across coverage lines including property/casualty, employee benefits, risk control and claims management, the statement said.

“We’re excited by this opportunity to add significant expertise to our existing specialty capabilities in the wine industry,” Patrick Roth, west region leader, Risk Strategies, said in the statement, adding the deal adds significant expertise to RSC’s specialty capabilities in the wine industry.

The statement said North Bay adds to RSC’s expansion of specialty capabilities in the western region.
