An audit by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services disclosed that Texas, Minnesota, New York, and Florida may have violated continuous coverage rules by terminating Medicaid coverage for several beneficiaries during the COVID-19 pandemic, despite receiving increased federal funding aimed at sustaining coverage, reports Becker’s Payer Issues. These states secured $12.8 billion in extra funding between January 2020 and June 2021.
