Uber seeks to overturn huge fine for irregular labor relations

U.S. transportation giant Uber Technologies Inc. on Sept. 14 said it rejected a ruling from a Sao Paulo state court, which imposed a fine of 1 billion Brazilian reals ($204.2 million) on the company for irregular working relations with the drivers on its application, Reuters reported. The court also ordered the ride-hailing company to recognize its employment relationships with all its app's drivers as well as register their professional work cards, with a penalty of BRL10,000 for every unregistered worker.
