The United States Geological Survey said that the economic losses from the 6.8-magnitude earthquake, which struck in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco on Sept. 8, will fall between $1 billion and as much as $10 billion, Artemis reported. The insurance market losses are likely to be insignificant compared to the economic loss, due to a lack of insurance uptake.
