Hong Kong flood insurance claims may exceed $395 million

The total insurance claims arising from the Sept. 8 heavy flooding in Hong Kong may exceed the $3.1 billion Hong Kong ($395 million) paid out in 2018 for damages caused by Typhoon Mangkhut, Asia Insurance Review reported citing South China Morning Post. This may lead to an increase in the cost of insurance in 2024.
