Everest Group sees nearly 27% growth in reinsurance premiums

Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Everest Group, Ltd. posted a 26.9% year-on-year growth in gross written premiums to almost $2.8 billion in its reinsurance segment in the second quarter, Reinsurance News reported. The reinsurance segment also reported a combined ratio of 85.9% for the second quarter, compared to 91.8% posted in the year-ago comparative period. Furthermore, it reported catastrophe losses of $27 million for the quarter.
