Volcanic eruption forces flight cancellations in Mexico

The Mexico City International Airport cancelled 622 flights between May 20 and May 22, while 1,707 flights were delayed due to the increased volcanic activity from the Popocatepetl volcano, Mexico News Daily reported. Another 17 flights were cancelled by mid-day on May 24. The volcano has continued to spew gas, ash, and water vapor in recent days, prompting airlines to take special measures.
