Sen. Bernie Sanders, D-Vt., along with Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Mich., and Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., introduced the Medicare for All Act of 2023 on May 17 that would create a federally administered single-payer health care system, reports Becker’s Payer Issues. Under the bill, the single-payer program would be implemented over a four-year period and by the fourth year, every U.S. citizen would be eligible for comprehensive benefits and would receive a Medicare card to access care, the report says.
