Marine insurers list Sudan as high-risk area amid rising conflicts

U.K. marine insurers have added Sudan to their list of high-risk regions amid increasing conflicts, Market Screener reported citing Reuters. The announcement by the Joint War Committee, comprised of marine underwriters from Lloyd’s of London and International Underwriting Association of London, means that ships sailing into the nation will have to pay an additional war risk premium as well as seek approval from their insurer.
