Centene 1Q profits hit $1.18 billion, fueled by enrollment growth

Centene Corp. reported first quarter profits of more than $1 billion as membership grew by more than 2 million thanks to an increase in federal health plan enrollment, Forbes reports. First-quarter revenues rose 3% to $38.88 billion from $37.18 billion in the year-ago quarter. Net income was $1.13 billion in the first quarter compared to a $849 million in the first quarter of 2022.
