Inflation drives nearly 12% increase in windstorm insured sums

Swiss catastrophe data provider Perils AG’s Industry Exposure Database 2023 showed that the sums insured for European windstorm grew by 11.7% year-on-year at constant euro exchange rates due to the impact of inflationary developments on exposure, Artemis reported. Meanwhile, the Perils' database for Wind Japan remains stable with growth in the low single digits, reflecting a more moderate inflationary landscape in the country.
