Scor’s P&C premiums excluding agriculture rise 17% at renewals

French reinsurer Scor SE reported a 17% increase in property and casualty gross written premiums to €724 million ($793.8 million), excluding agriculture, at the April 1 reinsurance renewals, while total premiums renewed, including agriculture, grew by 5% to €928 million, Reinsurance News reported. The insurer capitalised on the favourable reinsurance market conditions and significantly improved the expected technical profitability as well as risk/return profile of its P&C portfolio, which was renewed with an average rate increase of 7%.
