Desjardins seeking acquisitions in P&C insurance sector

Guy Cormier, chief executive at Canadian financial services firm Desjardins Group, said the company is seeking property and casualty insurance acquisitions, as it wants to further expand its footprint in the country, Reuters reported citing Refinitiv. Mr. Cormier said that the firm is mainly looking at opportunities in Canada as it feels the industry is ready for consolidation.
