New rule to create more transparency about AI-use in clinical decisions

The Biden administration has released a sweeping new rule touching on multiple aspects of health information technology, including proposals meant to create more transparency and trust in clinical decision support software, Heathcare Dive reports. The rule proposed April 11 by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT would give providers more information in their electronic health record system to assess clinical decision support AI tools and algorithms and their results.
