Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology said on April 10 that a tropical cyclone forming off Western Australia’s north-west is likely to hit the coast as the strongest cyclone seen in the region for 10 years and could bring heavy rainfall and flash flooding, Brisbane Times reported. The agency expects the cyclone named Ilsa to pick up strength as it moves down the tropical waters, before turning toward the coast between Broome and Port Hedland as a Category 4 system.
