Brown & Brown hires from Truist for data officer role

Brown & Brown Inc. on Friday said former Truist Inc. executive Michael Vaughan has been named chief data officer.

Mr. Vaughan will be based in Daytona Beach, Florida, and report directly to Chief Information Officer Gray Nester, according to an email from a spokeswoman.

This is a newly created position, the email added.

Mr. Vaughan was most recently senior vice president in the analytics data platform delivery and data strategy and architecture divisions of Truist, a statement said.
