Cat bond market back on growth path, but pricing elevated

According to U.K.-based Aon PLC, the catastrophe bond market started growing again during the first quarter of this year, but pricing tightened from peak levels witnessed at the end of 2022, Artemis reported. Aon also highlighted an increase in transaction sizes, with the average size of cat bond and associated insurance-linked securities issued during the quarter increasing from $141 million in 2022 to $172 million, the highest average deal size since 2018.
