Insurers settle 15% of claims from New Zealand floods, cyclone

Data from the Insurance Council of New Zealand shows that insurers have so far settled around 15% or 14,124 out of 96,586 claims arising from the damage caused the Auckland floods and Cyclone Gabrielle, 1News reported. Insurers have paid over $248 million New Zealand ($156.2 million) out of NZD1.31 billion in claims related to the Auckland floods and around NZD147 million out of the NZD1.15 billion in claims related to the cyclone event.
