Cyber MGU hires former SiriusPoint exec as president

Corvus Insurance Holdings Inc. on Thursday named Prashanth Gangu, who resigned as a senior executive of insurer and reinsurer SiriusPoint Ltd. last year, as president of the managing general underwriter.

Mr. Gangu will oversee sales, underwriting, actuarial, data science, claims and risk capital functions, the Boston-based MGU, which specializes in cyber liability insurance, said in a statement. He will report to Madhu Tadikonda, CEO of Corvus Insurance.

Mr. Gangu was chief operating officer and president, insurance and services of Bermuda-based SiriusPoint, which is one of Corvus Insurance’s supporting insurers, but he resigned last June.

Prior to joining SiriusPoint, he was a partner at Oliver Wyman, a management consulting unit of Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc.

Corvus Insurance was founded by former brokerage executive Phil Edmundson in 2018.
