California fines Health Net for failing to pay $1.2 million owed to providers

California's Department of Managed Health Care has fined Centene Corp.'s Health Net LLC subsidiary $225,000 for failure to accurately pay $1.2 million in claims to providers, Becker’s Payer Issues reports.  According to a March 27 news release from the department, Health Net agreed to pay the fine and paid the $1.2 million owed to providers. The Department of Managed Health Care discovered 34,433 claims Health Net did not accurately reimburse, including fines and interest.
