Major protests hit flight and port operations in Israel

Major protests in Israel have forced the country’s main international airport to ground departing flights and major ports in Haifa and Ashdod to halt work, Live Mint reported. The protests further intensified on March 27, after prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu sacked his defense minister for dissenting over the reform package and caused banks, major retailers and food joints to shutter their operations.
