Major strike to cause travel disruptions as airports cancel flights

A major strike by Germany’s Verdi and the Eisenbahn- und Verkehrsgewerkschaft EVG trade unions on March 27, after weeks of failed talks with employers on a pay hike, is likely to cause massive disruptions, mainly in the transport industry, Simple Flying reported. The Frankfurt Airport and the Munich International Airport have cancelled all flights for the day, with Deutsche Lufthansa AG expected to be the most affected airline. Deutsche Bahn AG has also cancelled all long-distance running trains and many regional train services.
