Heavy rains cause $323 million in infrastructure losses

Alex Contreras, minister of economy in Peru, said that heavy rains and flooding that followed powerful Cyclone Yaku, which struck the country in early March, have caused at least $323 million worth of infrastructure damage, Reuters reported. The cyclone caused massive destruction, mainly along the central and northern coast of the nation and adds on to the problems of the nation that is already struggling with violent anti-government protests.
