French insurers reassess nat cat assumptions: AM Best

According to analysts at ratings agency A.M. Best Co., French insurers and reinsurers are reassessing their natural catastrophe assumptions, risk appetites as well as pricing for weather-related catastrophe events after a year of extreme weather in 2022, Reinsurance News reported. The agency added that high insured natural catatastrophe losses have contributed to hard reinsurance market conditions this year and the inflationary environment may further exacerbate it.
