Severe sandstorm hits Beijing and northern China

The Beijing Ecological Environment Monitoring Center said that a severe sandstorm hit the Chinese capital and many northern provinces in the country on March 22, triggering yellow warning signals in nearly a dozen provinces until March 23, CNN International reported. The agency claims it to be the most severe sandstorm to date this year. The sandstorm also drastically lowered visibility in the regions.
