Severe weather, strong quake trigger state of emergency

The government of Ecuador has declared a 60-day state of emergency in 14 provinces that were hit hard by heavy rains and a strong 6.8-magnitude earthquake on March 18, ThePrint reported citing Reuters. The rains have destroyed public and private infrastructure, bridges and roads, while the earthquake has also caused widespread damage.
