Global, regional factors made renewal negotiations tough: P&C insurer

Patrick Ward, chief executive of insurer Bahamas First Holdings Ltd., said that a combination of regional and global factors, which are likely to persist for another 12 months, made negotiations for its reinsurance contracts for this year very challenging, Eye Witness News reported. Mr. Ward added that the economic landscapes in the Cayman Islands as well as The Bahamas were supportive of business development activities but were hindered by a lack of reinsurance capacity.
