Dollar crisis hits reinsurance payments of over $100 million

A severe shortage of dollars in Bangladesh has forced about a dozen local privately held insurers to halt reinsurance premium payments of over $100 million to foreign reinsurers, Asia Insurance Review reported citing New Age. In 2022, companies ceded reinsurance worth around $150 million overseas.
