Thai governmental agencies are working to avert a potential oil spill after seawater entered the hull of a floating storage and offloading vessel, operated by Chevron Corp., Upstream Online reported. The Benchamas 2 vessel, owned by energy-related maritime solutions provider Malaysia International Shipping Corp. Bhd., suffered the water ingress when a seal malfunctioned during maintenance work and killed one crew member. The vessel was carrying some 400,000 barrels of oil at the time of the incident.
