German horticultural insurer faces higher claims

German horticultural insurer Gartenbau-Versicherung VVaG a surge in claims for the second consecutive year due to multiple storms, hail and Tomato brown rugose fruit virus, Hortidaily reported. The company has already paid out €50 million ($53.02 million) in claims to the members of the insurance association. Storms Ylenia, Zeynep, and Antonia alone, which swept across Germany, France, and the Netherlands for several days in February 2022, caused almost 1,000 claims totalling €11.2 million.
