Lloyd’s names James COO

Lloyd’s of London on Tuesday promoted Bob James, former market transformation director, to chief operating officer.

Mr. James assumes the COO role from Lloyd’s CFO Burkhard Keese, who took on the additional duties of COO in January 2022 after former COO Jennifer Rigby left Lloyd’s.

Prior to joining Lloyd’s in 2021, Mr. James was executive vice president at private-equity-backed broker Amynta Group and before that served as COO for various North American insurance operations.

Lloyd’s also said Alex Cliff, deputy CFO, has joined the executive committee.

Ms. Cliff will continue to report to Mr. Keese who will continue as CFO, Lloyd’s said.

The appointments are subject to regulatory approval.
