Peru declares state of emergency after Cyclone Yaku

The government of Peru has declared a state of emergency after Cyclone Yaku battered the country with torrential rains, causing major disruptions in the northern areas, Reuters reported. The cyclone has already claimed the lives of at least six people and damaged hundreds of homes.
