Cost to farmers from Cyclone Gabrielle expected to exceed $1 billion

Terry Copeland, chief executive at Federated Farmers of New Zealand, said that Cyclone Gabrielle is expected to cost farmers more than $1 billion New Zealand ($610.9 million), NZ Herald reported. The estimated total farm costs includes crop or orchard restoration bills, infrastructure repair and income disruption for farmers affected by the event.
